Maailmakuulus kashmiir safiir tuleb peagi maailma kalliskiviturule kuna Kashmiir on otsustanud alustada kaevandamist Neelami orus. Jammu ja Kashmiiri riiklik mineraalifirma (JKML) on alustanud Paddari safiirikaevanduste mehaniseerimist. Kaevandamine algab Neelamis sellel suvel. teatab Greater Kashmir. Kashmir Sapphire to hit world markets soon

Jammu, Feb 10 : The world famous Kashmir Sapphire will hit the jewellery markets around the globle soon, as the state has decided to commence sapphire mining in Neelam valley in Doda district, official sources said today.
"We have started mechanisation of sapphire mines at Paddar (Doda district) and portable drilling machines have been already procured recently," sources in Jammu and Kashmir minerals limited (JKML) told Greater Kashmir here today.
Test conducted on the spot of Neelam mines in Doda mountains at Paddar by these portable machines proved successful in drilling holes there, they said.
Sources said a joint expedition team of JKLM and department of geology and mining after a decade have visited, Paddar, situated at an altitude of 4742 meters above sea-level, in 1998 and 2001 for undertaking a full-survey of the area.
The expedition team have also collected a sample of Sapphire corundum which is presently lying in the state treasury at Srinagar, the sources said.
"We will start mining activity in Jammu in summer this year and the world famous Neelam (Sapphire) will also hit the market only this year," the sources added.
